For almost 190 years Pilgrim Hall Museum has shared the story of the investments and sacrifices of the Pilgrims as they arrived in a new land – eager to create new lives for themselves and their children, little knowing whether their efforts would succeed or fail.
We particularly remember them at Thanksgiving, that the uniquely American remembrance of the courageous endeavors of those early settlers. Thanksgiving celebrates all the best actions of the laying of our country’s foundations in seventeenth-century Plymouth. We share that traditional story with our visitors, but we also take them on a journey far beyond the iconic image of “The First Thanksgiving.” Through exhibit labels, video and the objects themselves, we provide an opportunity to get a step closer to the real people and the actual events that provided the inspiration for the most enduring narrative of America’s founding.
We cannot accomplish all of this without your help. Museum memberships, admission fees, and purchases in the museum shop cover a portion of the museum’s expenses. Your special contribution today will enable us to continue to present high quality programs while still meeting the day-to-day obligations of the care of our collections.
